Paranasal Sinuses : Plain
Technique
CT of paranasal sinuses has been performed after taking serial contiguous sections from frontal to sphenoid sinuses in coronal plane.
Findings

Bilateral frontal, maxillary, ethmoid and sphenoid sinuses appear clear. Osteomeatal complex appear normal.

Bony outline of paranasal sinuses appears intact. No evidence of bone erosion or destruction is seen.

The spheno-ethmoidal recesses are unremarkable bilaterally.

The nasolacrimal ducts, cribriform plates, ethmoid roof and crista galli appear normal.

The anterior clinoid processes and bony margins of superior and inferior orbital fissures as well as optic canal appear normal. 

The vidian canal and foramen rotundum appear normal bilaterally.

There is no significant deviation of the nasal septum. 

The nasal turbinates in-view appear unremarkable. 

Sections through orbits reveal normal retrobulbar structures on either side.

Impression
  • No significant abnormality is seen in paranasal sinuses.
