Cervical Spine : Plain
Technique
Without IV contrast SE, TSE & IR sequences T1W, T2W sagittal & axial. Coronal STIR.
Findings

The cervical vertebral bodies, pedicles, laminae, transverse and spinous processes show normal alignment, MR morphology and signal pattern. The facet process, facet joints and neural foramina are normal. Spinal curvatures normal in sagittal and coronal planes.

The bone marrow shows normal signal for age. The vertebral body endplates are normal. No obvious abnormality with respect to ALL, PLL, Ligamentum flavum and interspinous ligaments.

The intervertebral discs show normal signal intensity with maintained height. No evidence of significant disc herniation made out.

The atlanto-axial and atlanto-occipital joints are normal.

The cervical cord appears normal. No evidence of any abnormal signal intensity seen within the cord. Grey and white matter differentiated. The cervico-medullary junction is normal. The visualized brainstem appears normal. No tonsillar herniation.

The emerging nerve roots could be visualized at various levels. The CSF displays normal signal intensity in all sequences and there is no evidence of any mass in or around the CSF pathway.

No obvious abnormality in the pre and paraspinal regions. The scalene, prevertebral and posterior spinal muscles are normal in morphology and signals.

The anteroposterior spinal canal (thecal sac column) measurements at mid vertebral levels are as follows :

C2:  cm C3: cm C4: cm C5: cm C6: cm C7: cm
