X-ray units developed into typical ecosystem at the bottom of pyramid.. This is very significant when we see ecosystem complementary to basic public healthcare infrastructure in countries. As of today, when the diagnostic ecosystem is going through phases of capital investments and margins, we need innovation in the entire model. The X-ray centers are also in the same boat.

Comparative Economics
X-ray unit economics is not the same as CT or MRI diagnostic facilities. The economics behaves differently on several accounts. Firstly the X-ray units are owned and operated in organised and unorganized fashion. Therefore it has more distributive socio-economic impact. Secondly the investment are in just hundred thousand dollars unlike CT or MRI set-up. Thirdly its difficult to enumerate them. We don't know how many of them are in unorganized environment.

X-ray Challenges

The first challenge is to bring millions of X-ray units into organised working environment what does that mean? It means finding right people to right tasks for right salaries at Xray Units. Secondly right regulatory compliance including right qualifications. Third is to have right patient related  arrangement at center. Last but not the least is right Xray reporting quality..

We had interacted with  radiology companies on this.  Head of one of such telereporting companies from West Bengal.told us that instead of reporting from radiologists, local technicians do image interpretation task. This proves fatal to patients in long run. But who cares? They find no radiologist who can report in a budget that patient can afford. He says, "Even the mindset of radiologist is at test. Xray means low wage opportunity for him.".

X-ray Ecosystem with Rewards
However at TeleradiologyHUB Analyst marks it otherwise. He says" Look at the volume and the type of cases in general yo get on Xray side. A radiologist can study 10 Xray cases in the same time as he takes to evaluate CT case. The equivalent  remunerations, He says its possible to incentivise the radiologist to report on time for Xray of patients in far interior like in West Bengal.  He talks about TeleradiologyHUB Second Opinion innovation Hub in this regard. He says, "Telelive is a product innovation from TeleradiologyHUB for Xary reports outputs in record TAT ." He further adds, "The reports are intellectual incentives to the local doctor to go deeper in clinical findings who  can fule demand for second opinion.".  The next step ahead of Xray is high value diagnostics like CT or MRI which requires investment in travel and diagnostic fees for local patient.and in some cases loss of wages to patients.  The  Xray route. is like turtle which can take the burden of rabbit i.e. CT or MRI diagnostic for some distance. This picture adds collaborative beauty to entire Diagnostic Spectrum . X-ray therefore is not limiting to itself but compliments to other diagnostic bandwidth but helps to save households. on time and costs where it matter the most..
